Munich-based ARX Robotics has secured €31 million in funding to scale up production of its autonomous battlefield robots and advance its AI-driven operating system, Mithra OS. The company aims to become Europe’s leader in intelligent defense systems.
ARX Robotics specializes in modular, software-driven unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) that can be equipped with various payloads such as radar, mine-sweeping devices, or medical stretchers. These robots are designed for rapid deployment and can be operated autonomously or remotely controlled via tablet.

The company plans to use the new funding to expand its manufacturing capabilities and enhance its AI operating system, Mithra OS, which aims to modernize existing military vehicles through AI, sensor systems, and autonomous driving capabilities. ARX estimates that it can retrofit 50,000 NATO vehicles with this technology.
ARX Robotics has already conducted field tests with armed forces in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and the UK. In February 2025, the company delivered 30 of its war robots to Ukrainian Armed Forces units engaged in active combat. The European Defence Agency has also contracted ARX to participate in the first EU-wide defense innovation initiative.

The funding round was led by HV Capital, with participation from Omnes Capital, NATO Innovation Fund, and Project A. This investment comes amid substantial increases in European defense spending, including the EU’s “ReArm Europe” plan to mobilize up to €800 billion over the next four years to enhance military capabilities.
With this new funding and expanded production capabilities, ARX Robotics is poised to play a significant role in the future of European defense technology.
